My name is Ally Walker (Miss Ally) and I am the director and principal teacher here at AWDA. We opened our doors back in 2006 and since then I have have had the privilege of training over 1300 hundred students throughout the South Burnett Region.
I started my dance journey at the age of 7yrs here in Kingaroy and since then dance has been a huge part of my life.
I love bringing dance and the benefits of dance to the community, it is truly humbling to see the love of dance grow in my students.

We offer ballet examinations in the world-renowned R.A.D "Royal Academy of Dance" Syllabus.
This fantastic syllabus allows students to excel in their classical technique whilst being encouraged to explore their love of ballet. Students as young as 5 years of age can commence studying these exams. Students who undertake these examination classes will be required to attend 2 ballet classes each and every week.
Students who wish to really challenge themselves in the art of ballet can also study the R.A.D Vocational Grades once they have completed their Grade 5 exam. Students will travel away to Brisbane or the Gold Coast to attend extensive workshops and to sit these major ballet examinations.

The Modern Jazz Syllabus released in 2004 comprises 10 Grades (includes 2 optional preliminary grades) plus a Teachers’ Certificate & Teachers’ Diploma. Fourteen levels are now available. The Modern Jazz Syllabus covers:

The syllabus caters for children from 4 years up.
Theatrical and Performing Arts Examinations
The Syllabus includes:
- safe dance practice
- musical theatre
Renowned musicals are studied at each level.
This syllabus caters for candidates from 4 years upwards & has been created by Gwen Mackey OAM. Set work includes a collection of barre & exercises in a variety of rhythms which are graded to assist the student in developing a strong technique & rhythmical accuracy. Own choice dances allow the teacher & student to create challenging pieces according to the level of each individual.
We offer the exclusive “Jason Winters Contemporary Technique”, a world-class and comprehensive Contemporary Dance syllabus. Its technique and structure is designed in the most classical and academic way and infused with choreographic electricity used in today’s most commercial settings.
Throughout foundation is laid for a strong, focused and fluid contemporary dancer with building blocks in Graham, Cunningham, Jazz, Classical, Yoga and Pilates, and Jason Winters own circular sense of movement.
This syllabus truly creates the platform and provides the path for the evolution of Contemporary Dance for the future. Students can commence 12 years of age.
